When we developed the Blacktips HD, our original mining-class LED work light, it was to solve a critical problem: heavy-duty equipment operators were constantly dealing with unreliable OEM halogen lights that failed under harsh conditions, causing costly downtime. Designed from the ground up to withstand extreme environments, the Blacktips HD set a new standard in industrial lighting. Its durability, performance, and versatility allowed operators to keep machines running longer and safer, transforming how work sites approached illumination. Available in five size options, it fits any application—from compact machinery to full-size industrial rigs—ensuring the right light for every job.
Built to endure, the Blacktips HD features a die-cast 6061 aluminum housing, marine-grade powder coat, thick UV-treated polycarbonate lens, reinforced gasketed bezel, and a strengthened trunnion bracket. Vibration-tested to 60 Grms, it can withstand intense shocks and complex harmonic vibrations generated by heavy-duty equipment without failing. An integrated Deutsch connector ensures secure, worry-free installation in the most demanding applications.
Operators can choose from Spot or Flood beam patterns, with additional degree options available on special request. Anti-glare beam options are available for headlight retrofit applications to prevent blinding oncoming vehicles, while Komatsu-specific headlight upgrade kits provide a seamless, high-performance replacement for OEM headlights. With Vision X’s Prime Drive Technology managing temperature and LED operation, the Blacktips HD delivers consistent output and extended lifespan, minimizing downtime and keeping equipment productive in the harshest conditions.
