The Glow That Does More: The DURA Pro DRL Feature

The all-new DURA PRO driving lights are the latest evolution in the Vision X lineup. Built for those who demand performance and durability, the DURA PRO delivers the same trusted output and reliability Vision X is known for, now in a more versatile and streamlined package. Available in 2-LED, 4-LED, 6-LED, and 9-LED configurations, and offered in both white and selective yellow, it’s designed to adapt to a wide range of driving conditions and environments.

But performance and flexibility are just the beginning — the DURA PRO brings something entirely new to the table.

What truly sets the DURA PRO apart, however, is its innovative dual-circuit design featuring a Daytime Running Light (DRL) "Glow Mode" — a signature lighting element unique to Vision X off-road driving lights. This begs the question, what makes the DURA PRO DRL so unique? Let's take a closer look!

DRL Done Differently

Say goodbye to outdated backlighting and lackluster beam performance from generic square pods. The DURA PRO’s advanced dual-circuit design redefines elliptical flood optics, allowing them to function as both a powerful beam and an oversized, SAE-approved DRL. The result? Two distinct lighting modes in one sleek package—without adding extra cost.

Why the difference? Traditionally, off-road lights labeled as “DRL” featured a simple halo or backlight glow behind the entire fixture. We wanted to take things a step further by introducing a fresh, more dynamic look—using a full row of optics at a reduced output. Not only does this meet street-legal requirements, but when multiple DURA 2s are stacked in a row, it creates a sleek “ghost light bar” effect that adds serious style to your vehicle.

What Is an SAE Approved DRL?

By reducing the DRL (Daytime Running Light) output to 15%, the DURA PRO driving lights meet SAE J2087 compliance—a key lighting standard that ensures auxiliary lighting can be legally and safely used on public roads. SAE J2087 specifically governs forward auxiliary lamps used on off-road and work vehicle, and meeting this standard means the lights won't produce excessive glare or distract other drivers, making them ideal for street use. The integrated DRL “Glow Mode” offers a soft, eye-catching signature that enhances vehicle visibility during the day without overwhelming oncoming traffic.

Always On, Always Ready: The Power of Dual-Mode DRL

This DRL "glow mode" isn’t just for looks—it serves a practical purpose. In everyday driving, it gives your vehicle a modern, premium appearance while maintaining full legal compliance. And when you're heading off-road, the DRL doubles as a low-power lighting option that lets you keep your surroundings visible without fully engaging your high-output beams—perfect for setting up camp, staging at trailheads, or conserving power on long expeditions. Whether you’re commuting through the city or navigating backcountry terrain, the DURA PRO's dual-mode DRL ensures you're always visible, always compliant, and always ready.
