Lighting the way at King of the Hammers

Our lights and offroad racers know a thing or two about testing limits. This past January we sponsored several incredible race teams to help us find the breaking point. Spoiler alert, we couldn’t find it. Our lights outlasted the toughest environments and harshest conditions out there, and our race teams didn’t hold back while ripping through the California desert.

King of the Hammers is a 17-day event located in Johnson Valley, California and features 90 miles of rough terrain in which 4x4 fanatics attempt to set records, go hard, and have fun. Offroad racers of various classes compete against each other, and the elements such as dry lakebeds, spine-compressing whoops, and deep canyons filled with boulders and obstacles. And while this race event brings out the toughest of the tough, it also means they rely on safety more than ever. Which is where we at Vision X come in. The racers need lights as tough as they are, and we make sure we always deliver.

Here's a quick snapshot of how we lit it up, who we sponsored, and how our lights faired out there getting beat to hell over the course of 17 days and more.

We had GENRIGHT Offroad ripping through some whoops, putting that suspension to work, all while making It look easy. They have a great setup of the Unite Light Bar up top, with Selective Yellow to cut through the dust, and a unique headlight system of some Unite Pods mounted vertically. Along with some 6.7 and 4.7 CG2 Multi LED Canons to blaze the trails.

The Thorco Racing team put on a show as they tore up the sand and dirt, without holding anything back. The Unite Light Bar was ideal as they cut through the airborne dust clouds. Two 4.7” CG2s mounted on the front look epic, and they also rock a Shocker above the Wench. Dust, fog and dirt got nothing on their Unite Light Bar up top with that selective yellow. This vehicle is tossing out a massive 45,000+ Lumens of raw daylight.

Vision X Lighting - TrophyLite

The Trophylite team with their Might Mouse Trophy Truck put everything to shame as they got down and dirty, and some air, while reaching top speed. This trophy truck monster pairs well with the Vision X lights. It’s got two Unreleased CR Pro’s on the A-pillars and it’s rocking our massive 6.7” CG2 Multi LEDs. Outside of the Vision X lights, this rig features lights from our family of BWI brands Big Red Gear.

Vision X Lighting - SEI Inc

Chip Sterndahl and his teams at SEI Racing showed us the true meaning of offroad as they unleashed the capabilities of their vehicles. They’re a solid group of guys who live life on the edge and treat you like family. Featuring the old school Xmitter Prime Amber Bar, Two sets of CG2s as Headlights, and an XPR Light Bar.

Special Congrats to all the teams that competed at the 2024 King Of The Hammers event! Till next year......
